PHILOSOPHY
It is the philosophy of The Children's Ark at St. George's to concentrate on educating the total child, treating each child as an individual with unique characteristics.
We believe in a warm, loving, stimulating atmosphere helps the children to reach their fullest
potential in:
- intellectual
- communicative
- perceptual
- physical
- social
- and emotional growth.
We also teach children about God's love for them and their important place in this world. This establishes a necessary and solid foundation for a healthy self-esteem and an appreciation of
individual differences. |

PROGRAM
Professionally trained, caring adults plan developmentally-appropriate activities designed to meet the readiness of each learner.
Teachers look at both the child's chronological age and his or her developmental stage to take advantage of that moment of maturation when a child is ready to engage in an activity with success.
The classroom environment is structured so teachers and children enjoy a learn/play partnership which fosters an activity-oriented, hands-on, developmental interactive approach to learning.
Children are encouraged to make their own choices and initiate their own activities while teachers help to extend them and make them richer and more meaningful. |
